You know we recently experienced the power of medicine and prayer, and I am confident you will feel that same power over the coming months. We look forward to a playdate soon.

  • Hi Will, Maureen, and of course Liam!

Will you may not remember me but we met through your sister Susan when she was attending Marquette. I just received an email from her about her trip home and the reason, your son Liam’s illness. Words are hard to come by to express the feelings we all have when we hear news of this sort. I just wanted to let you know that I am thinking about all of you and I hope that someday I’ll get to meet your couragous son, Liam. I wish there was more I could do to help, and please let me know if there is. Stay positive and I wish all of you the best.

    Hi Liam, Maureen, and Will,

Tiarnan and I are hoping to see our favorite two year old out and about soon now that the weather is turning warm!

    Here’s a poem for Liam:

    “Eletelephony” – by Laura Richards

    “Once there was an elephant,
Who tried to use the telephant –
    No!no! I mean an elephone
Who tried to use the telephone –
(Dear me! I am not certain quite
That even now I’ve got it right.)
Howe’er it was, he got his trunk
    Entangled in the telephunk;
The more he tried to get it free,
The louder buzzed the telephee –
(I fear I’d better drop the song
    Of elephop and telephong!)”

Love and prayers to you all!

    Dear Will and Maureen–
We are Jen Tomshecks’s parents. We do not really even know you except for Jen and Brian’s wedding. Ever since the day she told us about little Liam you have been in our prayers. Even lit a candle in Church for him last Sunday. This morning Jennifer just told me about this wonderful website for this beautiful little boy. He is remarkable–a true fighter who will become the winner after all is said and done. He is also one very lucky littl boy to have two of the most loving, caring, compassionate parents God put on this earth. God bless you all!!

  • Kate Tumulty

    Hey Liam, Maureen and Will,

It’s your cousins from New York, the Tumulty’s! Just wanted to let you know that we are thinking of you and praying for you.

    Hey it’s Kate,
Here is a poem that my dad and mom gave me when I was going through a tough time. My grandma gave my dad this poem when he was in ranger school in the army. I hope this gives you all some inspiration and confidence. And Liam, you’ll understand this when you get older.

When things go wrong,as they sometimes will,
When the road you’re trudging seems all uphill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest, if you must, but don’t you quit,
Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about,
    When he might have won had he stuck it out;
Don’t give up though the pace seems slow-
You may succeed with another blow.
Often the goal is nearer than,
It seems to a faint and faltering man,
Often the struggler has given up,
When he might have captured the vistor’s cup,
And he learned too late when the night slipped down,
How close he was to the golden crown.
Success is failure turned inside out-
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems so far,
So stick to the fight when your hardest hit-
It’s when things seem worst that you must not quit.

    Love always,
    the Tumultys

I am a colleague and friend of Nancy’s. We trade grandchildren stories when we are together. We share love, happy things and challenges.

I just wanted to let you know that my thoughts and wishes are with Liam and with you and your family.

I know you do not know me but I want you to know that if there is anything I can do (if you need an extra pair of hands or a “go for”) please ask me.

  • liz o'riordan

    Hi Maureen and Will,
Oh my, Liam is such a beautiful little child, I adore his smiley-Irish eyes, the eyes of a boy just about to get into a bit of trouble…that he will surely get out of. Just wanted to say we are thinking of you and keeping you guys in our prayers. Take it one day and sometimes one hour at a time and hopefully this will soon be a distant memory. I will keep an eye out for you on 4W…but I really hope you spend as little time as possible here.

I heard about the site through the “aquatic” grape-vine and wanted to stop by and say hi. Your son’s smile could probably power a small city. It never ceases to amaze me; the power of a child’s smile. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

    Dear Maureen & Will
because I am one who believes in the ancestors
beinging of great help to us…on my journey
to Mt Carmel last weekend I told your mother,
Will, that I would go to the grave of Mpther
Clarke and pray for Liam…while there I prayed to all the other sisters I knew who are
buried there…than I thought all these Irish
women (well most are Irish) need to look after
Liam and the two of you…so I went to the
center of the cemetary and spoke to all of them,( I spoke in a rather loud voice,…)
I asked them to give the two of you, Hope,
    Courage,Strenth,and Humor…to give Liam,
    Happiness,Laughter, a Long Life,and of
course Love which is all around him now,,,
for it is healing…I asked that the Doctors
be given Knowledge, and Understanding to find
Liam’s way to healing…when I finished Three beautiful eagles flew over my head so I know
I was heard. This is my contiued prayer:
” We are not alone. Our people are with us.
I will call back to the past.
I will reach back to my ancestors…
I will call them to me.
I will beg them to come.
I will reach back and draw them to me.
And they will come, they will come,
for at this moment, I (Liam)am the whole
reason the existed at all” African Slave 1700

  • Hi there you three! What fabulous news that Liam has beaten the pneumonia and is on to his 2nd round of tumor shrinking. Gooooooooo Liam!!!

We are praying up a storm out here in Colorado. Our parishoners at St. Thomas Aquinas in Boulder have also been praying for Liam. We figure prayers from every corner of this earth are what we are going for!

I am thrilled that Liam got to throw a b-day party for Pa. Seeing Liam sitting there in his hospital bed singing was not only adorable, this boy is actually inspirational. Liam YOU ROCK!!!

God bless the three of you as you live through these dark days. Liam is certain to bring the sunshine for all of you, I can see that.

And now for something completely different Liam…

    Knock, Knock.

    Will !
    Will who ?
Will you go away now please !

  • Maureen, Will, and Liam,

I hope you don’t mind that Lisa passed this site on to me. She told me about sweet Liam a few weeks ago. My daughter is just finishing up treatment for cancer and is being treated at CMH as well. We love CMH and especially the 4W nurses.

I just wanted to let you know that I have been thinking about you all and praying for strength for all of you. It sounds like Liam has been taking everything in stride. Kids have a great way of making such an awful thing somehow more bearable.

Please, please don’t hesitate to e-mail or call if you have any questions or just want to vent.

Keeping you all close in my thoughts,
    Kelly Erlain

  • Peggy and Mike Klimek

  • Hi Will, Maureen, and Liam,

We have never met Liam, but fell in-love with him from his Christmas card pic. We are praying for him and thinking about him and feel so bad for this aweful ordeal you have to go through. Being a cancer survivor myself, I know how hard all these doctor appts and chemo are. The whole thing stinks! We pray for strength to endure all this and remission for Liam!
