It is hard to believe that we are finished with the first huge part of Liam’s treatment. I remember feeling like we would never get here and in a blink we’re a third of the way finished.  As things go, Liam did great with the chemo but we headed back a week later with fevers. We were discharged home after a few nights inpatient and blood and platelet transfusions.

After spending the morning in the day hospital for yet another platelet transfusion, we went looking for an adventure. My friend and co-worker, Donna, had given us an open invitation to visit her boat , As You Wish. Liam has been weary of it all summer but today he was excited to climb aboard. Donna drove down and toured us around the dock and boat. Liam was happy to try out the captains wheel.

My little guy was quite taken with Donna, especially her stash of pretzels.  The below deck tour was fun, Liam of course found the funniest things impressive, i.e. the bathroom.

Since the visit we shout hello to Donna and As You Wish every time we pass the harbors on Lake Shore Drive.
