Liam’s L&D Quilt
0June 14th, 2010LiamThis beautiful quilt was crafted by the wonderful co-workers I have at Evanston Hospital. The time that went into making this awesome present and the love that went into each individual square is truely heart warming. A diagram was enclosed with everyone that made the quilt and which square they created.
I struggle to find the right words of thanks for my friends at Evanston. Even before we knew what was ‘wrong’ with Liam, they were my sounding board and encouragement to continue voicing my concerns to the pediatrians. When we were hospitalized it was about a minute before baskets of toys for Liam and supplies for Mom and Dad started showing up. They thoughtfully gave gift cards for local restaurants and honestly a ton of other things.  In an email to my friends I said that I never wanted to be on this side of their generosity, but I am proud to be part of a team that can be so unbelievably generous and supportive.  I have felt such warm support and love from every part of the women’s hospital team. My work as a nurse has never been so important as it is now. I am caring for my most important patient and it is a shift that seems to be everlasting. I feel so lucky to have such intense support in so many ways whether it be emotional, spiritual, financial or professional.
